Growing up, I watched my Grandmothers, Francis and Mary, create all kinds of delectable desserts from scratch, inspiring me to bake just like them. After leaving the Marine Corps and starting my family, I began taking cake decorating classes to enhance my skills in cake decorating; however, I felt something was missing. I wanted to develop my baking skills as well, so I decided to attend culinary school to gain in-depth knowledge about scratch baking. I proudly obtained my baking certificate from Pikes Peak Community College in Colorado Springs. The time spent in culinary school was a wonderfully fulfilling experience. I continue my culinary education by attending gum paste classes taught by Nicholas Lodge and Mercedes Strachwsky. Now, as Pastry Chef Tamara, I run Divine Dessert, where I bake from a fully licensed commercial kitchen inspected by the State of Florida. Additionally, Divine Dessert by Tamara has also obtained ServSafe Manager certification in food safety, ensuring that my wedding cakes and other creations are made with the highest standards of safety and quality.
